beRecuited has been around since 2000, and they are focused on connecting high school athletes that are interested in playing their sport in college (we support 18 sports, including volleyball) with college coaches.

The way the service works is that the athlete (usually with the help of a parent) creates a full academic and athletic profile. Our basic service, which is free, includes being able to upload photos and videos.

Athletes are then encouraged to go to the "colleges" section, where they can research schools that offer the academic and athletic programs that they are interested in pursuing. The athlete can bookmark programs of interest, which notifies a coach of their interest.

The service has more than 18,000 college coaches that are registered with our service. College coaches set up the criteria (both athletic and academic) of athletes that fit with their program, and then they notify the coach when a profile is created that matches the criteria.

They also offer a deluxe upgrade for athletes, which is an enhanced toolset that helps them through the process.  That is a choice of a monthly charge of $9.99 or the lifetime fee of $59.99. We have plenty of kids that find success that don't upgrade, but it does greatly enhance the exposure of the athlete.

The beRecuited site focuses on connecting high school athletes looking for an opportunity to play with college coaches. We have generated more than 8.5 million connections directly through the site, including more than 3 million this year. They don't guarantee success, but we are the clear leader in terms of an online network.
